Setup static IP address android phone or tablet. A static IP address is one type of permanenet address on the internet assigned by Internet service provider (ISP). You can setup the static IP address of network you want to use on your android lollipop and KitKat device. By default on your android lollipop (5.1.1) device, IP settings set as DHCP.

Step 1: Open “Settings” app on your android lollipop (5.1.1) device
Step 2: Under connection section, tap on “Wi-Fi”
Step 3: Tap and hold on “network name” want to setup static IP address on android device
Step 4: Tap on “Manage network settings”
You can see above screen on your android lollipop (5.1.1) device, tick mark the checkbox of “show advanced options”
Step 5: Tap on “IP settings” option & Click “Static”
You can see the above screen on your android device.
Step 6: To setup new IP address, enter the details of IP address, Gateway, network prefix length and Domian name server 1
Step 7: Click on “Save”

Settings > Wi-Fi > More from top right side corner > Add network > Show advanced options
