Here’s how to Set up a static IP address Android phone or tablet. A static IP address is one type of permanent address on the internet assigned by Internet service providers (ISP). You can set or assign an IP address of the network you want to use on your Android devices. By default on your Android lollipop 5.1.1 and marshmallow 6.0 device, IP settings set as DHCP. To set up the static IP address of a network, you can add the details of IP address, Gateway, Network prefix length, and DNS 1. You can also add a new network name or change network name using Wi-Fi settings.

How to Set Up a Static IP Address on Android Phone or Tablet
Step 1: Open the “Settings” app on your Android Lollipop 5.1.1 devices.
Step 2: Tap on “Wi-Fi” under the connection section.
Step 3: Tap and hold on “Network name” want to set up a static IP address on the Android device.
Step 4: Tap on “Manage network settings”.
You can see the above screen on your Android lollipop 5.1.1 device, tick mark the checkbox of “Show advanced options”.
Step 5: Tap on “IP settings” option & Click “Static”.

Step 6: To set up a new IP address, enter the details of IP address, Gateway, network prefix length, and Domain name server 1.
Step 7: Click on “Save”.
