How to Fix Google Pixel XL Charging issue
Follow below troubleshooting steps to Google Pixel XL won’t charge the issue. After every step check to fix Pixel XL charging issue.
Try your phone charger with another phone
Check Pixel charger is working on another device. If another phone can’t charge, you need to replace your phone charger.
Power Adapter & Cable/Clean Charging Port
Check your Pixel phone power adapter and cable with another device, always use the original cable to charge your Pixel & Pixel XL device.
Check wall outlet is completely working. Also, clean the Pixel phone charging port.
Check Google Pixel Battery Died
If the battery charge is a problem, if you can see red light & battery is fully discharged on Pixel XL then charge your device at least half an hour before rebooting it.
Use the Recovery Menu
Press & hold the power and volume down buttons for 15-20 seconds until see the recovery mode. Press the volume down key until seeing the power off. Press the power button to switch off your Pixel. Now, plug in your phone for 50-60 minutes and check to fix the issue.
Try to Charge Pixel using a USB cable
Unplug the cable from the power adapter, connect your Pixel device to the computer via USB port with original Pixel cable. Wait a few minutes. Now disconnect & reconnect the cable from the phone. If you can see the battery icon, your Pixel phone is turn off and is charging. If you see red light Pixel phone, battery is fully discharged.
Reboot your Pixel phone
Long press the power button and tap on Restart to restart your phone. After that try to charge your phone.
Enable Safe Mode on Google Pixel & Pixel XL
You need to boot Pixel & Pixel XL into safe mode if the device won’t power on or unresponsive touchscreen issues. When enabling safe mode, it will disable or hide all third-party apps from your phone that will use to check if any downloaded apps causing the issue.
Step 1: Tap & hold the power button in your Pixel & Pixel XL.
Step 2: Long press the power off until display “Reboot to safe mode”.
Step 3: Tap “OK”.
Step 4: You can see the safe mode in the bottom left side corner screen.
Now charge your phone and check to fix the issue. If your phone is charging in safe mode, it means any downloaded app causing this problem. Restart your Pixel to exit safe mode. Remove one by one recently downloaded app until fixing the charging issue. Re-install the other apps again. If you still facing issues in safe mode, you need to check for hardware or OS related issues.
Wipe Cache (Factory reset) Pixel & Pixel XL
It will remove all your phone data. Make sure back up & restore your Pixel data before applying it.
Step 1: Turn off your Pixel & Pixel phone.
Step 2: Press & hold the volume down button and the power button at the same time until the phone turned on.
Show the “Android system recovery” screen on your pixel phone. By default “start” button on android phone.
Step 3: Press the volume down button until view recovery mode.
Step 4: Press the power button to restart your Pixel phone into recovery mode.
You can show the above screen of the Android robot with a red exclamation point on the Pixel phone screen.
Step 5: Press the volume buttons until seeing wipe cache, press the power button to select it.
You can view this message: Wipe cache?
Step 6: To confirm it, touch volume buttons to scroll to Yes and press the power button to select it.
Clearing the cache may take few minutes.
Step 7: Use the volume buttons to scroll to reboot system now, press the power button to select it.
