If an error occurs, you can fix this problem to enter into Recovery Mode on your Google Pixel 2, 2 XL, and other Pixel devices.

Reboot your Pixel

Check out below given rebooting methods to fix the issue.

  • Hold the power button for 40-45+ seconds for it to turn back on.
  • Reboot your Pixel 2 to long-press the power button and tap the Restart button.
  • Press the Power button, volume up & down button, or try other combinations. Sometimes, it will be helpful to restart your Android device and turn it on usually.

Factory Reset to Fix Google Pixel 2 Stuck on G Screen Issue

Before Pixel 2 factory reset, back up your important data to another device. It will delete all your Google Pixel 2 information, such as your Google account, internal storage, photos, videos, music, and all other data.

Step 1: Switch off your Pixel 2.

Step 2: Press & hold the volume down key and the Power key simultaneously until your phone screen vibrate.

Now the Android recovery mode is a view. By default, see the start on your Google Pixel 2 screen.

Step 3: Press the volume down key until the select recovery mode screen.

Step 4: Tap the power button to enter recovery mode.

You can see the Android robot exclamation mark with a red triangle icon with a No command on the Pixel 2 device.

Step 5: Long press the power button and press the volume up key one time only and then release the only volume up button.

Now, Google Pixel 2 recovery mode options include reboot system, reboot to bootloader, Wipe data/factory reset, power off, and more settings.

Step 6: Tap the volume down key until the Wipe data/factory reset is selected.

Step 7: Press the Power button to perform wipe cache data.

You can see this message: Wipe all user data? By default, select the No option.

Step 8: Press the volume down button to select Yes.

Step 9: Press the power key to factory reset Pixel 2.

Wait until wipe data in your Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.

Step 10: Use the volume up button to select the reboot system now and press the power key to reboot the Pixel 2 device.

If none of the above-given methods worked for you, you need to download a factory image and flash it without wiping data on your Pixel 2 or other devices.

  2. So just to be clear, if I perform Step 7 (Press the Power button to perform wipe cache data), I will then have the option to select “no” to keep my phone from wiping all my data? Or will it automatically wipe all of my data from my phone when I select “wipe cache data?”
