How to Fix Can’t Make Calls on Google Pixel and Pixel XL
Several reasons are causing the Google Pixel XL call problems or low call volume issues. Apply below possible solutions to fix the low call volume on Pixels.
Restart your Pixel
It will improve performance & fix minor bugs on your Pixel device sometimes. Log press the power button & tap the Restart button to reboot your device. Now try to make a call and check to fix problems.
Check Call Volume and Media Volume is full
You can quickly check your Pixel volume settings to press volume up or volume down and tap on the Settings icon or Three horizontal lines (Android 12/11). You can see media volume, call volume, ring & notification volume, and alarm volume here. Make sure the call volume is full.

Check Network Signal Strength to fix Call Problems on Google Pixel
If there is a poor network signal or out of coverage range in your device, you can’t hear a voice during a phone call or receive a call also. You’ll use a headset or speakerphone to listen to the call. Find nearby places with a good network signal bar to fix poor sound call quality on Pixel & Pixel XL issues.
Also, try to turn on Aeroplane mode for 10-15 seconds, and after that, turn off it. Now check your device network signal. If the network is available, try to make a call.
Wired Headset or Microphone Issue
Microphone: If you use a microphone and facing a sound problem, make sure nothing is in front of the microphone that causing to poor call quality on Google Pixel.
Wired headset: Make sure the wired headset is properly inserted into the headset jack. Remove the Pixel case or cover if used.
Check Network Type
Step 1: Go to Settings.
Step 2: Tap on Network and internet.
Step 3: Tap on Mobile network or SIM (India).
Step 4: Tap on Preferred network type (LTE).
Step 5: Choose 5G/LTE (4G)/3G/2G.
Enable Enhanced LTE Services
Settings > Connection > Mobile networks > Enhanced LTE Services > Toggle on
Clear Phone App Cache
Step 1: Go to Settings in your Pixel.
Step 2: Tap on Apps.
Step 3: Tap on See All Apps.
Step 4: Select a Phone app and tap on it.
Step 5: Tap on Storage & Cache.
Step 6: Tap on Clear cache.
Now, restart your phone, make a phone call, and check the fixed issue. If clear cache can’t fix the issue, try to clear data. This clear data will remove all app data from your device.
Enable Safe Mode on Google Pixel
Step 1: Long press the power button on your Pixel.
Step 2: Touch & hold the Power off button until Reboot to safe mode is viewed.
Step 3: Press OK to boot into safe mode Pixel.
Now, wait until Pixel restarts.
Step 4: You can see the Safe mode symbol in the bottom left corner.
Now all downloaded apps are disabled from your device. Try to make a phone call and check to hear sound on calls. If you correctly hear the sound without any problems, third-party apps cause the issue in your device. Now exit safe mode to restart your Pixel. Now, delete a third-party app one by one until fixing low sound call quality problems on Google Pixel XL.
If none of the above-given methods worked for you to fix Google Pixel can’t make a call or receive a call issue, you need to try factory reset Pixel and Pixel XL using the below-given steps.
Factory Reset your Pixel & Pixel XL
Back up necessary data safely before factory reset Google Pixel. It will remove all phone data and reset all phone settings.
Step 1: Go to Settings in your Pixel.
Step 2: Scroll down up to the end of the page and Tap on System.
Step 3: Tap on Advanced.
Step 4: Tap on Reset options.
Step 5: Tap on Erase all data (Factory reset).
Step 6: Tap on Reset phone.
Step 7: Confirm your PIN, Password, or Pattern lock to continue.
Step 8: Tap on Erase everything.
Now delete all Google Pixel information, including Google account, internal storage, and other data. Restart your device and check to fix the low call problem. If you still face this issue, master reset Pixel using the hardware button.
Why Can’t I Hear Calls on my Google Pixel?
One of the most common factors to can’t hear calls or make calls is network signal or out of coverage range. If you use headphones and still facing the same issue, disconnect your pair & reconnect it and check to fix the problem. If you still can’t hear on phone calls, use another phone to connect with headphones to check if your phone or headphone issue. In the last, contact the Pixel support team to fix your issue.
Why is my Pixel Microphone Not Working?

Why is my Google Pixel 5 Dropping Calls?
The reason behind the call dropping on your Pixel 5 device is you are out of network coverage area. Find a nearby place that has a good network signal to make or receive a call on your Google Pixel devices. Also, turn aeroplane mode on & off and try to make calls on your phone.
Why is my Pixel 5a Not Ringing?
If your Pixel 5a not ringing, you need to make sure the ring volume is high and turn off Do not disturb mode. To check Pixel phone ring volume, press the volume up or down button and tap on Three vertical dots to view sound and vibration. Move the slider to the right side to increase the ring and notification volume.
To turn off DND mode, pull down the notification panel and tap on Do not disturb. Also, check phone ringtone is not set as None in your Pixel. Go to Settings > Sound and vibration > Phone ringtone > My sound > Select a ringtone > Save at the top right corner.
