Do you want to change the Instagram icon on your Android and iPhone devices? You don’t change the default Instagram app icon using any phone settings. Here’s how to change Instagram icon. You need to install third-party apps on your Smartphone to change the old Instagram logo. 

If you have an Android device, install the X icon changer app to change the Instagram app icon. You need to install the Shortcuts app to change the Instagram app and another app icon on your iPhone devices running iOS 14 or higher versions only.

How to Change Instagram App Icon on Android and iPhone

There are several apps in the play store to change ig logo (Icon) on your Android devices. In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to use the X icon manager app to change any app icon on your phone.

How to Change Instagram Icon on Android

Step 1: Download and install the X Icon Changer app from the Play store.

Step 2: Long-press the blank space on the home screen and tap Widgets.

Step 3: Scroll down and tap on the X icon changer to expand it. Long-press it and move it to the home screen.

Step 4: Open the app and tap on the Instagram app.

Now, see several icons for an Instagram app. You can see the change icon tab to choose a photo from the library, photo (Add your own), and apps. Also, set from different shapes (square, Round, Teardrop, etc.), add launcher GIF, select an app icon from your Installed apps, or set app icon color like Blue, Red, Black, Pink, etc.

Step 5: Choose an App icon and tap OK at the top right corner.

Step 7: You can see the new Instagram shortcut icon on your home screen. 

To remove the app icon, long-press it and move it to Remove at the top of the screen.

Make sure to image or icon saved to your iPhone gallery or library to set as an Instagram app icon on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 1: Download and install the Shortcuts app from the Apple store.

Step 2: Open the Shortcuts app on your iOS device.

Step 3: Tap the + icon at the top right corner.

Step 4: Tap the Open app.

Note: If you can’t view the open app, you can see Add action. Tap on it and search for Open app.

Step 5: Tap App or Choose and select Instagram from the apps list.

Step 6: Tap Three dots in the upper right corner to open the action menu.

Step 7: Tap Add to home screen.

Step 8: Tap your Instagram default icon.

Step 9: Choose a new Instagram logo and tap Add at the top right corner.

Now, long-press the original app icon > Remove app > Remove from the home screen. You can view only the new app icon on your iOS device. Go to your app library to view the original icon.

Remove App Shortcut: Long-press the app icon > Delete bookmark > Delete.

Why Can’t I Change my App Icons?

Make sure your phone’s default launcher supports a custom icon. Several Android devices not supported custom icons like Google Pixel. You need to install a third-party app or launcher to change the app icon on your Smartphone. If you have Samsung or OnePlus devices, you can easily change app icons without third-party apps. 

How do I Change the App Icons on my Samsung?
