You can turn safe mode on or off in Google Pixel 4 XL and Pixel 4 using below methods.
1st Method: Enable safe mode Pixel 4 XL when powered on
Step 1: Long press the power button.
Step 2: Touch & hold the power off button until see this message on the screen: Reboot to safe mode.
Step 3: Tap OK.
Step 4: Now safe mode symbol appears at the bottom left of the screen.
Now check your phone work in safe mode. If the issue goes away, a downloaded app is causing your issues. Reboot your device to exit safe mode on Pixel 4 XL.
