Google adds a fingerprint sensor in the Pixel 4a that removed from Pixel 4 (XL). Here’s how to set up or add fingerprints on Google Pixel 4a 5G to unlock your phone. You can add up to 5 fingerprints in Pixels. Fingerprint sensor available in the back of your Pixels. Also, use fingerprint to authorize purchases and app access. Only fingerprint scanner biometric security is available in your Pixel 4a 5G. Also, use Google smart lock in Pixel 4a to automatically unlock your Pixels without PIN or Fingerprint. Fingerprint security may be less secure than a PIN or Pattern lock or Password.

How to Set Up Fingerprint Sensor Pixel 4a 5G
You can see the Pixel imprint (Fingerprint) option in security settings.
Step 1: Swipe down the notification panel from the top and tap on the Settings icon.
Step 2: Scroll down and tap on Security.
Step 3: Tap on Pixel imprint under the device security section.
Step 4: Select a backup screen lock (We choose Pixel imprint + Pattern) to use with the Fingerprint scanner.
Step 5: Draw a pattern and tap on Next at the bottom right.
Step 6: Draw your pattern again and tap on Confirm at the bottom right.
Step 7: Choose lock screen notifications content display settings and tap Done.
Step 8: Put your finger on the back of the phone sensor and lift it after filling a vibration.
Step 9: Wait until see Fingerprint added message on the screen and tap Add another (Add more fingerprint) or Done.

Settings > Security > Pixel imprint > Add fingerprint > Lift, then touch finger in the fingerprint sensor until complete process > Done

Settings > Security > Pixel imprint > Tap on Fingerprint name > Enter the name > OK
How to Remove Fingerprint on Pixel 4a 5G
Settings > Security > Pixel imprint > Tap on Trash icon > Delete
How to Temporary Disable Fingerprint Sensor in Pixel 4a
Make sure to enable lockdown mode in your Pixel 4a to disable fingerprint lock screen.
Settings > Display > Advanced > Lock screen > Toggle on “Show lockdown option”
Step 1: Press and hold the power button in your Pixel 4a (5G)/Pixel 5 running Android 11 stock OS.
Step 2: Tap Lockdown.
Step 3: Try to unlock your Pixel using Fingerprint. You can’t unlock it.
Step 4: Just unlock your phone using Pattern or PIN.
Step 5: Now, lock your Pixel and you can unlock it using your Fingerprint again.
