Here’s how to turn on and use app preview messages on Android devices. By default, enable app preview messages on Android 8.0 devices.
Other Android 8.0 features include picture-in-picture mode, Notification dots, Autofill, Android instant apps, background process limit, and more. You will enable or disable preview messages on Android using Google settings.
What is App Preview Messages Android?
App preview messages help share content and send messages to you even via applications you may not have installed on your Android or Samsung devices. You can receive and reply to those messages sent from apps you don’t have. By default, app preview messages stay on your device for 1 year.

How To Turn On App Preview Messages On Android 8.1
If your device supports the Android 8.1 version, check the below settings to enable app preview messages on Android devices.
Step 1: Go to Settings on your devices.
Step 2: Tap Google.
Step 3: Tap App Preview messages under services.
By default, enable app preview messages on Android 8.0 devices. By default, app preview messages are connected to Google Allo app, and you will use app preview notifications with Google Allo. To stop app preview messages of Google Allo, disable it. Here you can see your mobile number and manage storage option.
Mobile Number:
This app preview messages are sent to this device at this added number. To change your number, tap your number, and verify your new number with Google services to use app preview messages on an Android device.
Manage Storage:
In manage storage, all app preview messages are stored on your Android device for up to 1 year. If you can’t keep them on your device, delete them whenever possible. You will automatically delete app preview messages after 7 days or delete all app preview messages simultaneously on your device.
You can also turn off or block app preview messages on Android 8.1 and other irritating devices. Just disable the app preview notification of the app that annoys you using the above-given settings.
