There are several lock screen security is available for lock screen including super fast face unlock, Fingerprint ID, Pattern lock, Password, PIN number and other smart lock. But in this tutorial, I’ll show you how to set up fingerprint in Huawei P20 Pro and P20 EMUI 8.1 device. To use the fingerprint ID for unlock phone, add fingerprint in Huawei P20 Pro and P20.
You can find fingerprint ID under security and privacy settings. Also use fingerprint to unlock apps in Huawei P20 Pro and P20 Oreo 8.1 device. Let see complete step by step process to set up fingerprint in Huawei P20 Pro.

Step 1: Swipe down notification panel and tap Settings gear icon
Step 2: Tap Security & password
Here you can see Find my device to find lost or stolen Huawei P20 Pro, Fingerprint ID, Face unlock, screen lock & password, PrivateSpace, App lock, File safe, location access, SIM lock and more settings.
Step 3: Tap Fingerprint ID
Before add fingerprint in Huawei P20 Pro and P20, set up PIN, Password or Pattern lock to unlock your device screen.
Step 4: Tap PIN / Password / Pattern lock
Step 5: Now you can enable options for use fingerprint in Huawei P20 Pro and P20 including unlock screen, access safe and access app lock.
Step 6: Turn on toggle button you want to unlock using fingerprint ID
Step 7: Tap New Fingerprint
Step 8: Touch the fingerprint sensor on the front of your phone. When you feel a vibration, lift your finger and then press again to sensor. Adjust finger placement to ensure accuracy of fingerprint in your Huawei P20 Pro and P20.
You can see this message after completed Huawei P20 Pro fingerprint setup: Successfully enrolled.
Step 9: Tap Rename (If change fingerprint ID name) or OK
Note: Fingerprint lock is less secure than a PIN, Password or Pattern lock.
Now you can see fingerprint ID 1, New fingerprint and Fingerprint recognition options in your Huawei P20 Pro and P20 device. You’ll add maximum 5 fingerprint in your device.

Settings > Security & password > Fingerprint ID > Fingerprint List > New Fingerprint
How to remove fingerprint in Huawei P20 Pro and P20
Settings > Security & password > Fingerprint ID > Fingerprint ID 1 > Trash icon
