Do you use quick tap gestures on your Google Pixel devices? In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to turn on Quick Tap on Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. You can use a quick tap on your Google Pixel phone to turn on the flashlight, take a screenshot, open an app, show notifications, play or pause media, see recent apps, or access your digital assistant. Select the function and double-tap on the back of your Google Pixel phone to quickly access it. Ensure that back tap gestures are enabled on your Pixel devices.

How to Turn On and Use Quick Tap on Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro
Step 1. Open the Settings app.
Step 2: Find the System and tap it.
Step 3. Tap the Gestures.
Step 4. Tap the Quick tap to start actions.
Step 5. Toggle on the Use Quick Tap.
You can see the options on your Pixel devices.
- Take screenshot: Quickly capture the screen of the page.
- Access your digital assistant: Launch the Google Assistant.
- Play or pause media: Play or pause the media on your Pixel.
- See recent apps: Access the recent apps.
- Show notifications: Quickly check the notification panel at the top.
- Toggle flashlight: Turn the flashlight on/off.
- Open app: Access your favorite app on Pixel.
Step 6. Choose an option from the above-given list.
Step 7: Double-tap on the back of your Pixel device to access the function you select.
Quickly Access Camera using Quick Tap on Pixel Phone
To open the camera quickly, go to Settings > System > Gestures > Quick tap to start actions > Toggle on use quick tap > Tap the Settings gear icon of the Open app > Choose a Camera app.
Double-tap on your Google Pixel back side to open that app.

You can use other Google Pixel gestures like quickly opening the camera, flip the camera for a selfie, tap to check the phone, lift to check the phone, one-handed mode, flip to Shhh, or press & hold the power button.
