Here’s how to set up face recognition (Face ID) on Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra 5G. You can use face recognition/face unlock on Samsung S21 Ultra to unlock your phone to verify your identity using your face. Also use fingerprint biometric security for additional verification. You can set secure screen lock like PIN, Password, or Pattern lock. You’ll need to unlock your phone after it restarts. Face unlock is less secure compare to other screen lock.
How to Set Up Face ID in Samsung Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra
Step 1: Swipe down notification panel from the top and tap on Settings gear icon.
Step 2: Scroll and tap on Biometrics and security.
Step 3: Tap Face recognitions.
Step 4: Tap Continue.
Step 5: Select the screen lock from Pattern, PIN, or Password.
Step 6: Enter the PIN and tap the Continue.
Step 7: Re-enter the PIN and then tap OK.
Step 8: Select if you wear glasses and then tap Continue.
Step 9: Hold the phone in front of you and wait until fully register your face.
Step 10: Tap on Done.
Now, lock your phone and when you see on your Samsung device, you need to swipe the screen to unlock your phone. To directly go to last screen when you see the lock screen, follow below setting.
Settings > Biometric and security > Face recognition > Toggle on Stay on lock screen
How to Add Alternative Look to your Samsung S21+, S21, S21 Ultra
Enhance face recognition by adding an alternative appearance like wear a mask, sunglasses, or hat, heavy makeup, facial hair, etc.
Settings > Biometric and security > Face recognition > Add alternative look
You can enable or disable the below given useful options.
Faster Recognition
It will improve speed but reduces security, increasing the possibility of a video or image being incorrectly recognized as your face. Enable or disable it if you want.
Require open eyes
For added security, only recognize your face when your eyes are open.
How to Temporary Disable Face Unlock on Galaxy S21 Ultra
Settings > Biometric and security > Face recognition > Toggle off Face unlock
How to Remove Face Data on Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra
It will delete your set up face. To use it again, you need to set up it again.
Settings > Biometric and security > Face recognition > Remove face data
