Google added a new extreme battery saver feature for older Pixel devices. Here’s how to enable or turn on extreme battery saver mode on Google Pixel 5, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 4, 4 XL, and other Pixels. This feature helps you increase battery life by using your Pixel less. It will automatically turn off battery draining features like background activity, Wi-Fi hotspot, and more. When enabling extreme battery saver in Pixel 5, most apps will be paused and won’t show notifications. Select the apps you don’t want to miss important messages or notifications.

How to Enable Extreme Battery Saver on Google Pixel 5
Step 1: Swipe down the notification panel from the top and tap on the Settings gear icon.
Step 2: Tap on Battery.
Step 3: Tap on Battery saver.
Step 4: Tap on Extreme battery saver.
Step 5: Tap on When to use.
Step 6: Choose from Ask every time/Always use/Never use (By default).
Step 7: Tap the Back button.
Step 8: Tap on Essential apps.
Step 9: Select the Apps to reduce more battery life.
You can anytime disable it to choose never use it in extreme battery saver settings.
How to Turn On Battery Saver Mode in Pixel 5
When enabling battery saver mode in your Pixel, it will automatically turn on the dark theme, turn off background activity, and other features.
Step 1: Go to Settings.
Step 2: Tap on Battery.
Step 3: Tap on Battery saver.
Step 4: Tap on the Turn on now button to activate it.
You can see the + icon in the battery symbol with orange color in the status bar in your Pixel.
Step 5: Tap on Set a schedule.
Step 6: Choose from No schedule or Based on your routine or Based on percentage (Set percentage to automatically enable battery saver).
How to Turn Off Battery Saver in Pixel 5
Settings > Battery > Battery saver > Tap on Turn off now button
