Do you want to set a custom notification sound on your Google Pixel devices? Here’s how to change the notification sound in Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro devices. Using the notification tone you set on your device, you can know who is messaging you without checking your Pixel device. You can choose a default notification tone or your phone gallery (Downloaded sounds).
Some Pixel 8 Pro users can’t change the notification sound issues on Reddit. If your Pixel device faces this issue, make sure your Pixel watch disconnects from your phone to fix it.

How to Change Notification Sound in Your Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro
Follow the below settings to change the Google Pixel 8 notification sound:
Swipe down from the screen’s top twice to open the quick settings panel & tap the Settings gear icon at the bottom right.
Tap Settings > Sound & vibration.
Scroll down and tap Default notification sound. You can see the default Pixel notification sound categories like Pixel sounds, Gems, Classical harmonies, Natural elements, etc.
Tap My Sounds to select a custom notification tone.
Tap the + icon at the bottom right.
Choose an audio file, or any downloaded notification sound from your device.
Select a notification sound and tap Save at the upper right corner.

Settings > Sound & vibration > Default Notification sound > Tap any Category > Choose a Notification sound.
How to Change Text Message Sound on the Google Pixel: Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro
Using the settings below, you can set or change text notification sound on Pixel 8 and other Pixel devices (Running Android 14).
Open the Messages app (Google Messages) in your Pixel > Profile icon at the top right corner > Message settings > Notifications > Behaviour, sound & more > Incoming messages > Sound > Tap any category > Choose a notification sound for the messaging app.
How to Set Different Notification Sounds for Different Apps on the Pixel 8 Pro
Settings > Apps > See all apps > Choose the App you want to change the notification sound > Notifications > Tap Notifications > Sound > Tap any category > Select a notification sound.
