Follow below given different ways to fix the touch screen not working on Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.

Check Touch Test

You can download the display tester app from the Play Store and check the 100% response on the touch test.

Remove SIM Card

Switch off your Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL device. Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL supports eSIM. Remove the SIM card from your device if inserted and after a few seconds reinsert again. Now turn on your Pixel 2 and check the issue solved or not.

Remove the Screen Protector 

If you have a screen protector, make sure that it’s not the fault of the screen protector you use. Sometimes they don’t fit exactly on the screen. So try replacing or removing your Pixel 2 protector if that’s the case.

Enable Safe Mode to Fix Pixel 2 Touch Screen Not Working Issue

Step 1: Long press the power button until see the power menu.

Step 2: Tap & hold the Power off button until see Reboot to safe mode.

Step 3: Tap on OK to boot your Pixel 2 into safe mode.

Step 4: You can see the safe mode icon at the bottom left corner.

Step 5: Check the touch screen is working in safe mode.

If your Pixel screen works in safe mode, it means a third-party app causing the issue. Restart your phone to disable safe mode. Now, remove downloaded apps one by one and check to fix the issue. After removing the app that causing the issue, re-install the other apps. If you still facing issues in safe mode, it means an OS or hardware related issue.

Factory Reset Google Pixel 2 using recovery mode

It will remove all your phone data, make sure back up all your important data before performing the below settings.

Step 1: Turn off your Google Pixel and Pixel XL.

Step 2: Press & hold the volume down button and the power button at the same time until the phone vibrates.

You can view the Android system recovery screen on your Oreo screen. By default start button show on your device.

Step 3: Press the volume down button until view recovery mode.

Step 4: Press the power button to restart into recovery mode.

Step 5: Press & hold the power button and volume up button one time to open settings. Press the volume down button until select the Wipe cache/factory reset, press the power button to select it.

Step 6: To confirm, press the volume down button to scroll to Yes and press the power button to select it.

Clearing the cache may take 4-5 minutes.

Step 7: Press the volume down buttons to scroll to reboot system now, press the power button to select it.
