If in your Nexus 6/Nexus 6P, Google Pixel, and Pixel XL phone scanner doesn’t read a fingerprint correctly, try below different ways to fix it.
Restart your Pixel & Pixel XL
Press & hold the power button and tap on “Restart” to reboot your device. Sometimes this method fixes your Pixel issue.
Remove Pixel Case & Cover
Remove the case and cover from your Pixel and Pixel XL device. Now check fingerprint works or not.
Remove Added Fingerprint to Fix Fingerprint Scanner Not Working Google Pixel & Pixel XL
First of all remove fingerprint already set up in your Pixel device using below settings.
Settings > Personal > Security > Pixel Imprint > Confirm Pattern/PIN/Password > Tap Added fingerprint > Delete
Now set up fingerprint in Pixel and Pixel XL device.
Settings > Personal > Security > Pixel Imprint > Follow the on-screen instructions
Enable Safe Mode on Pixel XL & Pixel
Step 1: Press and hold the power button on the Pixel phone.
Step 2: Tap & hold the “Power off” button until show “Reboot to safe mode”.
Step 3: Press “OK” to reboot safe mode Pixel & Pixel XL.
Step 4: View the “Safe mode” symbol on the left side below the screen.
Check your Pixel imprint/Pixel fingerprint works. If working perfectly, it means the third-party app causing the issue, find that app, and remove it. Tp exit safe mode, restart your phone. If you still facing issues in safe mode, it means OS or hardware related issues.
If none of the above-given methods fix Google Pixel and Pixel XL fingerprint scanner not working issue, wipe cache partition on Pixel and Pixel XL.

I am surprised to see that after update my pixel 3 xl add fingerprint options is not visualize and fingerprint is not working. Pls help how can i solve this problem i have paid all the dues and contract free from vodafon in Australian now i am using it in india

Set screen lock as None (Settings > Security > Screen lock > Confirm your PIN or Pattern > None > Yes, remove) so it will automatically remove the added fingerprint from your Pixel. After removing the lock screen, restart your Pixel. Now, try to set up fingerprint again and check to fix the issue. I hope this will work for you.
