Step 1: Turn off your Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.

Step 2: Press & hold the volume down button and the power button at the same time until the phone vibrates.

You can view the Android system recovery screen on your Oreo device screen. By default Start button show on your device.

Step 3: Press the volume down button until view Recovery mode.

Step 4: Press the power button to restart into recovery mode.

  1. The option to wipe cache partition doesn’t appear. Other sources say the Pixel 2 doesn’t even have a cache partition.

  2. Google support says they don’t use a cache partition for the Pixel phones, but a “dual partition”. The old cache partition clearing/wiping can’t be done on these phones.

    These instructions are for a factory reset… That’s different.
