To set Bluetooth audio codec on Samsung galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, first of all make sure enable developer mode in your device. You can enable it using below settings.
Step 1: Go to settings in your galaxy S9 & galaxy S9 plus devices
Step 2: Tap on About phone
Step 3: Tap on build number 7 times until see developer mode is enable on your S9 screen
Step 4: Go to settings > system > developer options
By default disable developer options on galaxy S9 & galaxy S9 plus devices.
Step 5: Enable developer mode on galaxy S9, S9 Plus
Step 6: Tap OK to enable it

I figured this out. If you go into the bog standard BT settings and hit the cog for the connection to the headphones- there is an option to ‘allow LDAC’.
Thanks Big Al. It was driving me nuts as it kept going back to aptx. Went to the developer options and it was right in front of me. LOL!!
