Here’s how to enable and use Gestures on Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL devices. There are several Gestures available in your Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL including Active edge, swipe fingerprint for notifications, Jump to camera, System navigation (Android 10), flip camera, Flip to Shhh, prevent ringing, etc. Also, you can’t disable Navigation gestures on Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. But if you have the latest updates Android 10 on your Pixel 3 & 3 XL, you can easily enable and use new gesture navigation.

First of all, see system gesture settings for your Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL devices.

Step 1: Swipe down the notification panel and tap the Settings gear icon.

Step 2: Scroll down up to the end of the page and Tap System.

Active Edge

You can customize Active Edge on Pixel 3 using gesture settings. In Pixel 3 active edge setting, you can see squeeze for your assistant, squeeze for silences and access assistant option when the screen is disabled. Also, adjust squeeze sensitivity as light or firm squeeze.

Swipe fingerprint for notifications

To check received notifications, swipe down on the fingerprint sensor on your Pixel 3 & Pixel 3 XL device. Enable swipe fingerprint for notifications to use it in your device.

Jump to camera

To quickly open the camera, press the power button two times. You can use this gesture from any screen or even lock your phone. This gesture is useful for photo lovers to quickly capture a photo without unlocking your device.

Flip camera

To quickly change camera mode to selfie mode, double twist when open the camera app in your device.

Swipe up on home screen – By default activated on Pixel 3 & Pixel 3 XL

By default enabled this option on your Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. This option is not available in the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL Gesture list. So you can’t disable this gesture on your Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

This newly added gestures in Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL for hiding the overview button and back button form navigation bar. To use navigation gestures on Pixel 3 & Pixel 3 XL, enable swipe up on home screen gestures. After turned on, you can see the horizontal line (Pill) instead of the home button and the recent app button. Swipe up on the home button to switch apps and swipe up again to see app drawer in your android Pie 9.0 supported devices.

System Navigation (If updated your Pixel 3 & 3 XL to latest Android 10)

How to Use Google Pixel 3 Gestures navigation system

If your Pixel device updated with the latest OS, you can see this new system navigation gesture. You’ll choose fully gesture navigation/2-button navigation (back & home), and 3-button navigation (back, home, and recent). Easy to enable full gesture navigation in your Pixel 3 and 3 XL devices.

Prevent ringing

If you don’t want to make a sound while your phone is ringing, press power & volume up button the same time to vibrate or mute phone or do nothing.

Flip To Shhh

It will automatically enable Do Not Disturb mode in your Pixel 3 & 3 XL. Toggle on Flip to Shhh, place your phone face down on a flat surface to activate DND mode.

How to Use Gestures on Pixel 3 Camera

You can use this gesture when open camera app in your device.

Volume Key: Use the volume key for shutter/Zoom/ Volume.

Double-tap action: Use double-tap action for Zoom/Switch camera/Off.
