What is Smart Storage on a Google Pixel Phone?

Google Pixel’s smart storage feature is helpful in automatically removing photos older than 60 days that you’ve uploaded to your Google photos. Due to this setting, your Pixel device’s photos & videos storage will never be full.

Step 1: Swipe up from the bottom to access the App drawer and tap on the Settings app.

Step 2: Tap on Storage.

Step 3: Tap on Free up space.

Step 4: Tap on Three horizontal lines at the top left corner of the screen.

Step 5: Tap on Settings.

Step 6: Toggl on Smart storage.

It will permanently delete media backed up to Google Photos on your Pixel devices for 60 days.

How to Change Google Photo Upload Size on Pixels (Android 12)

You can change the upload size for photos and videos in your Google Pixels using the below-given settings.

Step 1: Open the Google photos app in your Pixels.

Step 2: Tap the Profile icon at the top right corner.

Step 3: Tap on Photo settings.

Step 4: Tap on Back up and sync.
