How to Customize Home Screen on Pixel 5
Step 1: Long press on the home screen and select Home settings.
Below given home settings are available on your Google Pixel 5 running stock Android 11 OS.
Notification dots
You can see the dot icon on the app you receive notifications on your device. Stock Android 11 also includes a bubble feature that use to quickly respond to any conversation or messages from the screen.

Google Pixel 5 at a Glance feature is used to set calendar events, birthdays reminder, alerts from work profiles, and weather alerts.
Add app icons to Home screen
If you want to add a new downloaded app shortcut (Icon) to the home screen, just toggle on this.
Swipe to access Google app

App suggestions are based on your recently used apps, most-used apps, and routines. You can enable or disable suggestions in all apps to show apps on top of the app drawer. Also, enable suggestions on the home screen (Only stock Android 11 OS) if you want to show the most used apps on the bottom row of apps on the home screen.
Allow Home screen rotation
Enable home screen rotation to rotate your Pixel 5 home screen when the phone is rotated. You must enable this to rotate the home screen.
