Automatic Call Screening Now Available for Pixel 3, 3 XL, Pixel 3a, 3a XL, Pixel 2, Google Pixel

Automatic Call Screening Now Available for all Pixel devices. If you’re annoyed by spam calls, you can use this new call screening feature to avoid it. This Google Pixel 3 call screening feature uses Google Assistant that asking to a caller about the name, and why you’re calling. If you found call important, receive it. Make sure your phone app updated with the latest version.

Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL launched with several new hardware & software related features including Group selfie, Top shot, Call screening, Super res zoom, Night sight, Live Google Lens and more. We already discussed get Pixel 3 Night Sight on older Pixel devices. But in this tutorial, I’ll show you steps to get Pixel 3 call screening on all Pixel devices. Let see step by step process to get Pixel 3 call screening on Pixel 2 and Pixel devices.

How to get Pixel 3 call screening on Pixel 2 and Pixel

Thanks for the Senior XDA developer member coolsid8 for this handy tip to enable call screening on Google Pixel and Pixel 2 Pie. This method is only working on root Pixel devices.

Step 1: Make sure your device rooted and the latest version of the app.

Step 2: Download file explorer that root-enabled such as FX File explorer.

Step 3: After install explorer on your older Pixel devices, navigate to root directory from the left side menu bar.

Step 4: Navigate to /data/data/com.google.android.dialer/shared_prefs and look the file named dialer_phenotype_flags.xml.

Step 5: Look for _data_rollout_SpeakEasy.callscrenOnPixelOneAndTwoRollout_launched_and change the value from ‘false’ to ‘true’.

Step 6: Look for _data_rollout_SpeakEasy.OverrideUSLocalCheckRollout_launched_and change the value from ‘false’ to ‘true’.

Step 7: Look for G_eanble_speakeasy_details and change the value from ‘false’ to ‘true’.

Step 8: Look for G_speak_easy_bypass_locale_check and change the value from ‘false’ to ‘true’.

Step 9: Look for G_speak_easy_enabled and change the value from ‘false’ to ‘true’.

Step 10: Now open settings > Apps & notifications > Phone app > Force stop > OK

Step 11: You can see call screening in Google phone app settings.

Not all stock ROM users got this feature even apply above given all steps. If you can’t get this update, wait until the end of the month for older Pixel devices. This is not confirmed.

How to block spam calls on Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL

Step 1: Open the phone app in your Pixel 3.

Step 2: Tap Three vertical dots (Menu) from the upper right corner.

Step 3: Select settings.

Here you can see Google Pixel 3 phone call settings like sounds & vibration, calls, blocked numbers, voicemail, caller ID & spam and more.

Step 4: Tap blocked numbers.

Step 5: Tap Add a number.

Step 6: Enter the phone number you want to block calls and texts.

Step 7: Tap Block.

Now you can’t receive phone calls and message from this blocked contact in your Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL devices.
