By default automatically add apps icon to home screen while downloaded apps from Google plays store. In this tutorial, I will show you steps to turn off add app icon to home screen in galaxy S9 and S9 plus Oreo devices. You can disable add icons to home screen on galaxy S9 plus & galaxy S9 using display settings.
In android lollipop & marshmallow devices, you can also disable add apps to home screen using play store settings. Different android devices have different settings to disable it. Step 1: Go to settings in your galaxy S9 & S9 plus
Step 2: Tap on Display settings
In galaxy S9 & S9 plus display settings, you can see auto brightness, enable Blue light filter, screen mode, screen resolution, full screen apps, icon frames and more settings.
Step 3: Select Home screen
Here you’ll change home screen layout, home screen grid, apps screen grid, app icon badge, Portrait/Landscape mode and more settings.
Step 4: Disable Add apps to home screen
Now whenever downloaded new apps from play store, you can’t see app shortcut on your galaxy S9 & S9 plus home screen.
Turn off add icon to home screen android Oreo 8.1 & 8.0: Google Pixel, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL
Step 1: Tap & hold the blank space in your Oreo home screen
Step 2: Select home Settings
Step 3: Turn off toggle button of add icon to home screen
If you have android lollipop and marshmallow devices, you can disable add icon to home screen using below settings.
Disable add icon to home screen in android lollipop 5.1.1 & marshmallow 6.0
Step 1: Open Google play store in your lollipop & marshmallow
Step 2: Tap on three horizontal lines from upper left corner
Step 3: Tap on Settings
By default tick marked the Add icon to home screen for new downloaded apps.
Step 4: Uncheck the checkbox of Add icon to home screen
