By default set the messaging (SMS) app, Home app (Pixel launcher), Digital Assistant app (Google), Caller ID & Spam app, Phone app, and Browser app. You can set a default app or third party app in your Pixel 4a 5G or Android devices. How to Change Default Apps in Google Pixel 4a 5G
Step 1: Swipe down the notification panel from the top and tap on the Settings icon.
Step 2: Tap Apps & notifications.
Step 3: Tap Advanced.
Step 4: Tap Default apps.
A list of default apps appears (Show below screenshot).
Step 5: We select the SMS app.
Step 6: Choose the App from the list and tap OK.
Restart your phone to apply this setting.
